Greetings and welcome back to DiveIn We have a pretty major announcement to make. Our Joomla DiveMap Control has finally been completed and we are starting to add detail to the maps for your convenience. Seeing as there’s a significant amount of diving related information that we are going to have to get in to the system, getting it up to scratch is probably going to take some time, but this really is the easy part. We have a full administration section which allows ease of entry of the data, all we need to do is to gather that data and enter it, so we’ll be getting going with that as soon as possible and start providing a comprehensive list of dive venues, accommodation venues, reefs and wrecks. Check it out at by clicking here. This is meant to be a public information service for the most part, and we will be more than happy to enter your favourite dive site information on the map. In the long term we are planning to provide facilities that will allow you to do this, but for now, if you want something entered please just drop us an email with the co-ordinates, a description and possibly some images and we'll get it added for you as well as giving credit to you for your entry. Below is an image of what you can expect. You’ll notice that there is a map displayed with markers that indicate specific areas of interest. Those markers are categorized and you can filter on those categories by selecting or deselecting your desired category in the list just above the map. When you click on a marker, a white box opens up on the map and gives you a small amount of info regarding that specific marker. If you want more detail, click the green header link in the white box and the full informative article will display below the map. There are some other pretty cool things that you can check out: - You can zoom into and out of the map by double left- or right- clicking on the map, or you can use the control provided on the left hand side of the map.
- You can change the map type by clicking on the map type you want in the top right hand side of the map
- Generally, most articles will have a Gallery section. You’ll be able to click the images in the gallery for a larger view and then use the provided controls at the top of the page to navigate through the gallery.
Please have fun with this and send any suggestions or issues that you have with this addition to our site to
